World Mental Health Day

10th Oct 2024
Today was World Mental Health Day and just like many children around the world, we encouraged our pupils to wear something yellow to school.

There were lots of great discussions on what Mental Health is and how important it is to look after yourself, as well as loads of different activities in each class. Sometimes it might be a child who needs a few minutes to themselves or maybe even a trusted adult or friend to talk to. As a Nurturing and PATHS school, we are always trying to help promote the mental health of our children and ensuring children are happy in school is always a top priority for us. Often sharing our problems can help us to deal with them, and that goes not just for children, but adults too.

We would encourage you to discuss what mental health is with your child and ask them how they are feeling today. Understanding what to do in times when your mental health may not be at 100% is a great way to build resilience and help you cope with similar problems you might face in the future.
