Today was a huge day for our school and in particular our Shared Education programme with our partner school Long Tower.
We have been practicing singing as a whole school since before Christmas and today we entered our first competition as a joint Shared Education Choir.
Mr Gallagher from Long Tower has led our efforts and has been working with all of us to practice some songs. Today all our hard work paid off today when we entered the Derry Feis, which was held at St Mary’s College.
We took a bus there with our friends at Long Tower and had time for some last minutes practice before entering the competition.
We placed 2nd overall in our section of the competition only a few points behind 1st place. We were so proud of all our efforts and can’t wait to enter again next year.
Thanks so much to Mr Gallagher for leading our choir and providing us with an opportunity we would never have had otherwise.
Getting on stage took bravery and courage and all children today showed that they are natural performers, well done to everyone who took part.
