In Primary 1 and 2 we've been having lots of fun in our numeracy learning all about length. We started by measuring with our body parts. We measured things in our classroom with our hands and things in our playground with our feet, but we realised that our hands and feet weren't the best things to measure with.
We then measured things in our classroom with cubes and this was more accurate. We also had to estimate how many cubes each object was before measuring. For our last measuring task we measured with cubes and straws. For each object we had to decide if it would be better to measure with cubes our straws and we realised that it was more sensible to measure smaller objects with cubes and bigger objects with straws.
