Over the last number of weeks, Primary 6/7 have been working with the Churches Trust and 2 other local primary schools - Long Tower and Nazareth House.
We have been having weekly Zoom calls with each other and completed work celebrating the 1500th anniversary of the birth of St Columba while also working on the children's mental health through the 5 steps to wellbeing.
St Columba was the founder of our city and there are many things named after him. He brought Christianity to the city and spread the word of peace amongst those who live here.
As part of the project, the Churches Trust commissioned a book to be made with work by all the children involved. Each child was given 2 copies of the book to take home, which even features artwork from one of our children on the front cover!
Some children from the class also were involved in the making of a short video detailing our work and Columba's life.

We work every year with the Churches Trust on different projects and while the current one is ongoing, we would like to thank them for all their hard work, especially Catherine and Wendy, who have adapted the lessons so that we are able to do them without meeting the other schools due to COVID restrictions.
