As part of our Walls and Bridges World Around Us topic we had a bridge building competition!
We split into teams and assigned roles to each person in our group. There was a CEO, a finance manager, an engineer and a builder in each team.
First of all we created a company, giving it a name, designing a logo and slogan as well.
After we created our company, we set about researching different types of bridge. Once our research was complete we got to work designing our bridge. Once our design was complete, we had to work out how much the materials to build it would cost.
We spent one session building our bridges, buying additional materials from Mr Torney's shop when we ran out. After lunch we tested to see if a car could cross our bridges and finally which bridge could hold the most weight!
We had lots of fun setting up our businesses and putting them into action, it was a great learning experience.
