🌍 World Book Day 📗
We had so much fun today celebrating World Book Day.
Reading is a great way to help us learn. Not only does it improve our knowledge and understanding, but it helps us with our creativity, spelling and writing.
In school we did lots of activities based on reading…
In Nursery we discussed some traditional stories like the 3 Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
In Primary 1 we talked about the books that our wooden spoon characters came from and all the fun things that happened in the stories.
In Primary 2/3 we discussed books we enjoy and even got to design our very own book cover. It was lots of fun.
In Primary 4/5 & Primary 6/7 we had a visit from Jane at Verbal. Jane told our classes different stories, but they had the same moral, “never judge a book by its cover”. We learnt that it is important to be kind and take care of others. Thanks so much to Jane for coming in. Jane held a raffle in both classes and the winners received vouchers for Foyleside! Thanks so much Jane!
Well done to all the children that created a character using a wooden spoon. Every child who entered got a certificate. Check out some of the amazing efforts below.
